Scott Sagan is the Caroline S.G. Munro Professor of Political Science at Stanford University, and Senior Fellow at the Center for International Security and Cooperation and the Freeman Spogli Institute.

Hussam Salama is a Research Fellow with The Dubai Initiative and an architect and urban planner. He is also assistant professor of urban planning at the National Research Centre in Egypt. His focus is on the new trends of urban development in the Middle East during the era of globalization.
