Dr. Hassan Abbas' research interests are nuclear proliferation, religious extremism in South and Central Asia, and relations between Muslims and the West. In association with the Belfer Center, he is currently working on a project focusing on police reforms and counterinsurgency in Pakistan.

Matthew Fuhrmann is an Affiliate with the Project on Managing the Atom (MTA) and a former joint research fellow with MTA and the International Security Program (ISP). He is currently an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of South Carolina.

Melissa Hathaway, former acting senior director for cyberspace at the National Security Council, has joined the Belfer Center as a senior advisor to its cyber security initiative, Project Minerva, a joint effort between the Department of Defense, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University.
