Experience

Karin Vander Schaaf is the administrative coordinator of the Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program (STPP)/Energy Technology Innovation Policy (ETIP) research group and provides faculty assistance to Professors Venkatesh Narayanamurti, Laura Diaz Anadon, and Jim Waldo. Her administrative responsibilities include financial management and budget oversight, logistics planning for conferences, seminars, and workshops including most recently the two HKS-Shell Biofuels workshops in 2014–2015 and the "Inventing the Future to Address Societal Changes" Symposium in September 2014, and working with the STPP/ETIP fellows on HKS administrative matters. She is a member of the HKS Sustainability Initiative and on the HKS Pavilions Project Sustainability subcommittee.

Karin joined the Belfer Center after eleven years at Harvard Medical International where her role was Manager of Administrative Operations and Program Manager for the Dubai Healthcare City project. She served in Dubai, UAE, from September 2003–October 2004 in the first phase of the project. Karin holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Graduate Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from the Harvard Extension School.
