Experience

Heidi Brockmann is an active duty Army intelligence officer currently pursuing a Ph.D. in American politics in the Harvard University Department of Government.  Her research interests include the federal bureaucracy and the politics of the federal budget process.  Heidi is a 2001 graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds a B.S. in International Relations.  She served as the Executive Assistant to the Political Advisor for Combined Joint Task Force-76 in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2005, assisting senior military commanders assess the political implications of operational decisions and collaborating with senior Afghan and Pakistani military officers to pursue confidence-building measures along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.  She most recently served as the commander of a company of 160 military intelligence and signal Soldiers at Ft. Meade, Maryland, charged with emplacing and maintaining the National Security Agency's communications networks.
