Experience

Mateja Dermastia is CEO of Anteja ECG in Slovenia. She is an internationally-recognized authority on industrial clusters, innovation and competitiveness policies, strategies and programmes. She has nearly 20 years of professional experience in the area of enterprise competitiveness, competitiveness policies and long-term managerial experience in leading public and private institutions. She has served in various capacities as including State Undersecretary for Competitiveness and Innovation in the Government of Slovenia. She has served on various international expert committees and groups on competitiveness, clustering, and innovation policies. Ms. Dermastia is recognized for her extensive advice to governments in developed and developing countries.  In addition, she has helped to build expert teams and provide managerial guidance on issues related to industrial development. Originally trained in biochemistry, Ms. Dermastia has a Masters in Economic Sciences and has obtained executive education at the Harvard Kennedy School. She has written extensive on clusters, competitiveness and innovation.
