Experience

Brian Lippey has over twenty years of experience in global capital markets, including over ten years with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, where he played key roles in building those firms' foreign exchange and international fixed income businesses in London, New York, and Tokyo. He subsequently built and ran two multi-billion dollar hedge funds in both Hong Kong (CEO, Tokai Asia) and New York (President, The Rohatyn Group), which employed multiple investment strategies in the global equity, debt and currency markets. His expertise is in investment strategy, global marketing and fundraising, risk management, Asian financial markets, and international business development. He is currently advising a multi-strategy hedge fund on its global institutional investor development and Asian expansion strategies. Mr. Lippey is a graduate of Columbia University and The Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. In addition to Belfer Center's International Council, he is a Member of The Council on Foreign Relations, The Asia Society, the Columbia University SIPA Advisory Board, and several other charitable Boards.
