Hope received her Masters in International Security from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, and was a research analyst for the University's Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence.

Hope owns and operates TerroristFinance.com, a counter terrorism resource for law enforcement, private sector industries, and academia. TerroristFinance.com is currently being certified as a woman-owned business enterprise.

She was on CNN's Investigation Team in 2001 and was a founding member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists. Hope writes, consults, and speaks on financial intelligence solutions to combating terrorism, has served as an expert witness for an international terrorist financing case, and is a charter member of Women in International Security—New England.

For the 2008–2009 academic year, Hope is leading the Women in Science and International Affairs (WSIA) group of the Belfer Center, which provides a forum for women at the Belfer Center to interact with each other and to discuss issues that are meaningful to their research and career goals. WSIA brings dynamic and accomplished women to speak at the Kennedy School of Government and intends to continue facilitating the process of connecting the women who work within the Belfer Center and catalyzing discussions among members of this community about particular issues of interest.

All at the Belfer Center are welcome in WSIA, including faculty, staff, and fellows.
