Matt Waldman

Matt Waldman practiced as an international lawyer based in London, after which he served as a foreign affairs and defense advisor in the UK and European Parliaments. He has worked on Afghanistan and the region since 2005, most recently as a senior UN official in Kabul covering conflict resolution and reconciliation with the Taliban.
Nussaibah Younis
Research Fellow, International Security Program
Nussaibah Younis' research focuses on the impact of state weakness on Iraqi foreign policymaking since 2003 and Iraq's post-war state structure. She has published on the relationship between sectarianism and Iraq's post-war electoral system.
Daniel E. Zoughbie
Research Fellow, International Security Program
Dr. Daniel E. Zoughbie previously taught at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a visiting scholar at the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law at Stanford University. His research examines U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.

Nicholas Burns is Professor of the Practice of Diplomacy and International Politics. Dara Kay Cohen's research and teaching interests span the field of international relations, including international security, civil war and the dynamics of violence during conflict, and gender and international relations. Her current book project examines the variation in the use of sexual violence during recent civil conflicts.
