Kelly Sims Gallagher was invited to serve as a Lead Author of the Global Energy Assessment (GEA). The GEA is a major, multi-year, international effort supported by UN organizations including UNDP and UNIDO, the World Bank, governments, and NGOs analagous to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Gallagher's role is to focus on policy for energy innovation.
John P. Holdren was named to a Harvard task force on greenhouse gas emissions by President Drew Faust, charged with examining Harvard's emissions and recommending a University-wide greenhouse gas reduction goal.
ETIP launches an energy R&D project, with support from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation's Climate Change Initiative.
Henry Lee has been appointed to serve on the National Academies Transportation Research Board's "Committee for a Study of Potential Energy Savings and Greenhouse Gas Reductions from Transportation".
Kelly Sims Gallagher has been appointed to the "Task Force on Innovation" under the auspices of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). The goal of the task force is to "explore the role of innovative technologies and their supporting policy innovations in achieving China's goal of creating an environmentally-friendly society by 2020." The report will go to Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan in late 2008.
The Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and ETIP hosted a Joint Workshop on IGCC & Co-Production and CO2 Capture & Storage on May 23-24, 2007 in Beijing.
