In cooperation with HKS Executive Education, DSG Executive Education, HKS faculty, and others at the school, The Dubai Initiative coordinates two types of training programs held at DSG:

EXECUTIVE EDUCATION
Administered jointly by HKS and DSG and taught by Harvard faculty, these programs are typically four days long and are open to regional leaders or delivered directly to a select group of young leaders or government officials.

Negotiating for Leadership: An Executive Program for Women in Senior Positions

Description: Co-hosted by the Women and Public Policy Program at HKS and the Gender and Public Policy Program at DSG, the program was designed to assist women in senior positions in developing the negotiation strategies necessary to lead effectively in today’s world.

Public Finance Management
Dates: June 10 - 14, 2006
Faculty and Guest Speaker: Perran Penrose, Stephen B. Peterson
Description: The program's goal was to provide a better understanding of issues in public finance management as they relate to the functions of an executive budget manager. Case studies aided in providing participants with clear, contemporary examples from which they could draw core skills and practical knowledge about governments as they work to improve their public finance management systems.

Innovations in Governance
Dates: September 24 - 28, 2005
Faculty and Guest Speakers: Akash Deep, Linda Kaboolian, Mark L. Moore, Gowher Rizvi
Description: Using various case studies, the program addressed issues on how best to meet the governance challenges facing countries today. Participants developed an understanding of innovation and leadership in the public sector and how current institutions' structures and processes might be altered to better serve society.
