Research Associate/Project Manager, DSG's Gender and Public Policy Program
About the position
The Dubai School of Government's Gender and Public Policy Program is seeking a candidate for the position of Research Associate/Project Manager. The RA will be responsible for managing the programmatic aspects of the Gender and Public Policy Program and organizing a wide variety of research activities. The RA will work closely with the director of the program to oversee and manage all research activities including: developing research proposals, managing the data collection and analysis process, hiring and training research assistants, and writing and editing of papers and policy briefs. The RA will develop and manage the monthly Gender Research Seminar Series, exercising both academic and administrative capabilities. The RA will support all communication and outreach activities related to program, in both English and Arabic. The RA will maintain and increase the program's network of universities and academics in the Arab region for collaborative research and programmatic activities. The RA will also be involved in conference management, writing and editing of conference proceedings, and preparation of budgets related to program. The RA will support proposal development and fundraising activities. The RA will be required to participate in a variety of public events at the Dubai School of Government and represent the program in local and international conferences and workshops.
The RA needs to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Arabic and English. Advanced writing skills to produce high quality research reports is required. The RA is expected to work as a team member with program director and other research associates. Finally, the RA will also be required to participate in Dubai School of Government public events and to represent the program in local and international conferences and workshops.

The Gender Public Policy Program to support theoretically and methodologically rigorous research that conceptualizes, problematizes, and analyzes gender gaps in the Arab world while, at the same time, linking the research to agendas and instruments for informed policy action. In addition to collaborating with academic institutions, the program forges partnerships with private sector organizations, government agencies, and policy makers to act as a platform for influencing public policies affecting the lives of women and men in the Arab world.

Research Associate, DSG's Gender and Public Policy Program
About the position
The Dubai School of Government's Gender and Public Policy Program is seeking candidates for the position of Research Associate. The RA will be expected to conduct research on a variety of cross-cutting gender and public policy issues in fields such as: Organizational Behavior, Cross-Cultural/Social Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Negotiation and Leadership. RAs will be involved in a number of on-going research projects including: Gender and culture dynamics in negotiation and leadership in the Middle East, gender in organizations, and women's economic and political participation in the GCC.
Qualifications for this position include a master's degree in the social sciences, preferably social psychology, sociology, anthropology, economics or gender/women's studies. Post-docs in the social sciences are welcome to apply.
RAs should have advanced writing and analytical skills to produce high quality policy papers and policy briefs on a variety of topics in both academic and public policy venues. The RA should demonstrate excellence in both writing and speaking in English. The RA will be expected to edit, proofread, and fact-check a variety of policy reports and papers.
The RA needs to be familiar with research methods and processes including research design, data collection and analysis. The RA should have the ability to use statistical programs (e.g. SPSS). Candidates with previous experience in conducting survey research and laboratory experiments are preferred.
The RA is expected to work closely with the program director, research associates, non-resident fellows and international research collaborators. The RA is also expected to participate in the Dubai School of Government's public events and represent the program in academic local and international conferences and workshops.
